Dall’Italia Bakery is an artisanal patisserie venture located on a corner plot within a low-rise residential area with abundant tree cover.A single volume marks the intersection of the two streets, acting as a landmark. The building was set back to the plot’s boundaries, creating an open, publicly accessible space around it. This extension of the pavement acts as an intermediate zone between the street and the shop, generating a new spatial quality that enhances opportunities for interaction between people and with the service the shop provides.
The upper floor, which houses the production and kitchen area, floats above a fully glazed ground floor dedicated to customer service. With blind walls that will eventually be covered in greenery to blend in with the surrounding trees, natural light filters through a coffered concrete and glass roof.
