Arch. Josefina AbbatteBiscayne Park is a residential neighbourhood located in the northeast of Miami-Dade County, between the cities of Miami Shores and North Miami. This green enclave, founded in 1931, is known for its leafy tree-lined streets, historic architecture, and serene atmosphere. A thriving area with strategic connectivity to both the north and south of the city.
The landscaping — inspired by the work of Roberto Burle Marx — is a defining feature: plant species are grouped by colour, shape, and light requirements, creating a distinctive visual and sensory experience.
Some of the plants used include Bougainvillea, Hibiscus, Croton Mammey, Ferns, Areca Palms, Schefflera Aralias, Traveller’s Palm, Laurels, and Philodendrons.
The architecture respects the residential scale of the neighbourhood and enhances the identity of its surroundings. It is a project conceived to integrate nature, design, and intelligent use of space in one of Miami’s most promising areas.
